Top - J Crew Factory Jeans (similar) - Chip & Pepper
Booties - Marshalls Necklace - J Crew Factory
I have to say, these jeans are my first dive into the colored denim trend. I know, I know, gray is really not that big of a stretch from the classic denim look, but for me it is a BIG DEAL. I have never been a fan of the look. Colored pants seem to to look so much better on the girls who grace my Pinterest news feed than in actual real life.

However, when I co-hosted the Belk Girls Night Out event a few weeks ago (here), the dynamic duo Chip & Pepper made me try on these gray beauties. Not only did I go down in size, but I fell in love. And they signed the inside pocket! How sweet is that?!

You might be wondering why in the world I am what seems to be the only blogger not wearing a Zara, or Zara inspired blanket scarf yet. Well that would be because the high temperature for today is a staggering 88 degrees. While I am a self-proclaimed summer gal. Loving the sun, beach and denim cut-offs. I am starting to lust for scarves, chunky knits and closed toe boots.

You might also be wondering where the title of the post came from. Kind of cryptic I know. If you do not have Taylor Swift's new album 1989, RUN to Target right now. It is $1 more than the one on iTunes, but it comes with 3 extra songs that are totes worth it. Currently on repeat.

You Are The Only Exception.

Schoolboy Blazer - J. Crew Tank - American Eagle
Denim (similar) - Chip & Pepper Pumps - TJ Maxx
Sunnies - Ray Ban
While I am a self-proclaimed shopaholic, loving a great deal and always wanting to go out and grab something I just "had to have," it is very rare that an article of clothing renders me speechless.

This blazer is the exception. It is my exception. HOLY COW. The popped collar for me is to die, and I can not wait to wear it so many different ways. It's the classic SchoolBoy Blazer from J. Crew, so of course its timeless.

And you know I had to throw a little leopard in for good measure. Btw, they were $36 at TJ Maxx. Talk about a maxxinista moment.

Top - Anthropologie (similarJacket - boutique in Statesboro
Denim - Chip & Pepper Earrings - Lisi Lerch (thanks Piqued PR!)
Booties - Lulu's Bag - Tory Burch (similar
Phone Case - Kate Spade (similarSunnies - Guess (similar)

I have a confession to make. While I am a self-proclaimed jewelry addict, owning countless bangles, fabulous neckpieces, to call them just necklaces would be an injustice, and more rings than I can count, earrings have never really been my thing. Now stud earrings, those I can rock all day. Mainly because they are the background dancer if you will, while the necklace is the star.

However, these Lisi Lerch stunners have completely changed my outlook. Isn't it funny how that can happen? You can be so dead-set on thinking one way, like me thinking I'm not a statement earring gal, and then BAM. It hits you like a ray of sunshine (pun pretty much intended). And there is no going back.

They have created a whole other life in my accessory world that my wallet is not very happy with. And surprisingly, they are not that heavy. I swear!

What is one fashion risk you've taken that you got instantly hooked the instant you pulled the trigger?

To say last Thursday was a blast would be the understatement of life. If you were living under a rock, that does not have Instagram, you totes missed out on my 15 minute update of some crazy picture from the Girl's Night Out #HappyHours event I co-hosted with the lovely blogger gals pictured above!

Apart from the killer shoe section that Belk is always on their game about, there were fabulous eats from Blowin' Smoke & drinks from Southbound Brewery. I had some delicious mac & cheese and heard ALL about these pumpkin spiced cheesecake balls. I guess this is where I fail at being a basic white girl, no pumpkin anything for me!

The one of the highlights for the event for me, and it seemed like everyone else was of course the henna tattoo booth. There were FLASH TATTOOS peeps. I took a good 30 minutes debating my gold choices, like they were permanent. Oops! :) Everywhere I turned it seemed like there was glitter, sparkle and people gushing about their tats.

Another crowd pleaser was of course Chip and Pepper Foster, of the Chip & Pepper brand. If you ever watched The Look For Less back in the day, you remember these fun loving brothers who brought so much life to the show. Hiding in clothing racks, telling everyone how HOT you look. That energy is completely evident still in these bros! They were a BLAST. And if you haven't yet, you need to snatch up some of their denim. Personally, I went home with two pairs.

All and all it was a great event. With an even better turnout. Can't wait for the next one!

I guess I am just not completely ready to put the gams up for fall. At least these adorable leather shorts (last seen here) are the southern girls answer to the 75/80 degree October weather we are currently in. I am beyond jeals of the blogger gals posting about their Zara blanket scarves, whereas I'm like oh hayy check out my really cute chevron necklace from 9th & Elm. Jumpsuit - The Mint Julep Boutique
Denim Vest - Target
Bangles - J. Paige
Scarf - Gap (similar
Sunnies - Forever 21 (similar

One thing I absolutely LOVE about fall is that all of my pants can come out of hiding. I am such a pant gal. Skinnies, trousers, tapered sweats....you name it I love it.

Another way to get the pant vibe, at the same time serving a little bit of edge, is a jumpsuit. It is literally my version of acceptable-to-wear in public pjs. They are a onesie ladies, without the dreaded am I going to flash someone if I bend down in this dress. Do I need to sell you on this idea any more than that?!?

This one from The Mint Julep Boutique is no exception. To say it is soft like your cozy blanket you use when you are cuddled up about to watch the newest episode of Scandal would definitely be accurate. I can't wait to jazz it up for fall with a winter white leather bomber jacket and a giant neckpiece.

This would normally be when I say xoxoxoxo to you ladies, but there is some VERY exciting news at the end of today's post. Enter below to win a $25 gift card to The Mint Julep Boutique! I personally can't wait to get on there and get this, this, this, this, this and this. SO many options! And don't forget to sign up for their emails to get $10 off your first order!!
