Striped Tee: Gap Scarf: Gap Boyfriend Jeans: Gap Shoes: Target Sunnies: Forever 21(similar
Bracelets: BaubleBar/ Urban Outfitters Earrings: Francesca's

Every once in a while its nice to pay homage to the basics. The items of clothing that are the staples in your closet. The ones that become the canvases to your bolder pieces, like giant necklaces, earrings or a fabulous bag. These are the things I rarely think about picking up, but always find that I need.

Since I don't find basics shopping trips to be the most enjoyable, I like to knock it all out in one store. For me, nine times out of ten, I am going to make my first stop Gap. They are the queen of great tees, jeans and they are always having a sale. Their workout wear is amaze too!

I did not realize until I started writing this post that I am basically a Gap ad in this shoot. But I absolutely love a good stripe, I have this tee in gray/white too. And a bright scarf, making me feel like its spring, during these cray, wayy too cold weather temps we've been having. Add a perforated white loafer from Target, if you can believe it, and all I kept thinking is that I really need a tan.

Denim Jacket: American Eagle Tank: J. Crew Outlet (amazee) Tutu: The Girl That Loves
Shoes: Sole Society Necklace: Forever 21(similar) Sunnies: Guess

I am the first to admit that I am stray to the side of girly when choosing the majority of my outfits. I love stacks on stacks of sparkly baubles, feminine ruffles and as the old saying goes....the higher the heel, the closer to heaven. So naturally when this tulle number came in the mail I was as giddy as a little school girl. Then I got to thinking....is this too much. I am definitely the risk-taker when it comes to what I wear with my group of friends down here, so is a giant Carrie Bradshaw tulle skirt taking it a step too far?

My answer came when one of my besties, Haley, decided her 25th birthday party was going to be a "Tutus and Bowties" theme. HELLO TULLE SKIRT. It was fate. Needless to say, we rocked our tutus all across downtown Savannah. Strutting, obvi. And if you've never been in the middle of a dance floor and twirled in a tutu, add it to your bucket list. So fun!

Thought I would leave y'all with a behind the scenes shot of my reaction to the workers who decided that me twirling in the middle of the street, in 4 inch stilettos was something to whistle at. You were driving me crazy....

Leopard Pocket Tee: The Girl That Loves Midi Skirt: H&M (similar) Shoes: Vince Camuto
Necklace: H&M Sunnies: ASOS (similar)

There are very few things I love more than the color pink and a dash of leopard. Naturally my heart skipped quite a few beats when this tee arrived at my doorstep from The Girl That Loves. Hello lover. And paired with my new obsession, my midi, I can't even handle how much I love this look.

As a fun-sized gal, on a good day reaching an intimidating 5"2, I never thought the midi skirt was something I could even fathom. On a whim, I decided to snatch up this one from H&M while in Jacksonville work clothes shopping, and man am I so glad I went with my gut. I may never take it off, I apologize in advance for how many times you will see this textured beauty. And its got pockets....I'm done.

Blazer: LOFT Tee: Gifted (The Girl That Loves) Jeans: Gap Flats: TJMaxx Purse: Gifted (Francesca's)  Sunnies: Forever 21 Initial Necklace: BaubleBar Bracelets: BaubleBar & Urban Outfitters
Phone Case: Kate Spade (similar) (thanks sky!!)

I have long been just a bystander in the distressed boyfriend jeans phenom but after finding these slimmer fit ones at Gap, I have to admit I'm a fan. As a rather petite chick, proportions are super important, unless you want to look like a sloppy blob. Another trend I'm loving is the graphic tee, and this one from TGTL is just the right amount of sass. It's got a tie in the front which makes it perf for a high waisted skirt. Pop of color is always a yes, and these flats for tjmaxx about made me fall over when I spotted them. The ultimate maxxinista moment.

Check back later this week for lots of other ways to rock the boyfriend jeans.

Bobbi Brown Addict.

Thursday, March 6, 2014

Today it is all about makeup. I have to admit, I've never really been a huge makeup girl. In high school I wore everything but eyeliner, mascara and eye shadow. I hated drawing the liner on, having to get it just perfectly straight, and my eyelashes pretty much stink so there was absolutely no reason to swipe on mascara. Well then people, something changed. Bobbi Brown came into my life and I haven't been the same since.

I'll list out every product a little later, but as you can see I clearly need to go to some kind of Bobbi rehab, although I am cheating in the mascara department with Benefit.

My favorite products are definitely the shimmer brick, which I mix all together for eyeshadow and a highlight. Y'all, I am slightly ashamed to say that I own three shimmer bricks. But they have literally lasted me three years. They are the ultimate and so beyond worth it!! My blush is absolutely a given. Have to have blush on, at all times. Just wakes up the face. The Bobbi gel liner is God's gift to women. With an angled brush for that cat eye wing look.

Here is a list of my products:

And yes my makeup bag is from the Missoni x Target collection. I fought hard for that bag, you know how vicious those Target shoppers can be.

What are y'all's makeup must haves?

St. Patrick's Day.

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

I am refusing the weather outside and officially claiming that SPRING HAS SPRUNG. I am beyond over sweaters, bulky jackets and freezing cold temps. Let's be real. I am ready for rompers, floral prints, bright colors and having a tan. Being from Savannah, there are a few things that happen in early spring that make a southern girl swoon. The anticipation of the first day we can wear sandals and show our painfully white legs. The day a sleeveless dress can be rocked with no leather jacket. And the countdown that happens right after New Year's Eve, to St. Patrick's Day.

We have the second largest parade in the country, one where the fountains in our squares are dyed green, you can carry around your alcoholic beverage in a plastic cup and not get in trouble, and you can give away red-lipped kisses like they are candy. A girl's St. Pat's outfit is as crucial as a gameday outfit at the first UGA game. It's got to have the right amount of green, any shade is appropriate, a little bit of white for spring, and a pile of beads. And if you are wearing any orange, that is just a no-no! We all like to find that one green item that no one else has. Which is easier said than done.

Now for me, my family walks in the parade, so I am feeling the added pressure to have a unique and completely adorable look for the fateful day. Online shopping has become my best friend, in looking for a way to style a fabulous outfit for seeing just about everyone I know. It is a see and be seen type of day.

In preparation for the big day I have lined up a few posts showcasing some of my favorite GO GREEN looks for y'all who are procrastinators (much like ME) and haven't found that perfect look yet!

Today it is all about LuLu's. A great source for awesome bags, dresses and some adorable rompers!
