Summer Lovin'

Thursday, July 30, 2015

Do y'all ever have issues picking out what to wear when you have multiple places to go in one day? Having an outfit go from day-to-night during the summer is always a struggle for me, especially since I have been known to change outfits in a given 24-hour period. Insert blushing emoji here.

I should also preface this rambling by saying I get cold pretty much everywhere I go. If we are inside somewhere, chances are you're going to hear some teeth chattering coming from my direction at some point. So a summer weight sweater has always been on my list of staples, although I have found that actually locating said lightweight, but still warmish sweater that can go with multiple potential outfits, is quite the problem.

On the day these shots were taken, I was going from an outdoor concert (where I got to see the real life Elsa sing Let It Go...eeek!), which included a cute little picnic with some work gal pals, to drinks at a bar with a boy. So obvi I had to be way too cute to handle (for the boy) and way too cute where gals would want to know where I got said items (for my girls)! Insert this lightweight sweater, in the most GORG color, from Triple Thread. Y'all need to get on this, I can't wait to wear it for the rest of my summer nights and fall days.

Side note, the boy I met up with liked the giant tassel earrings. I was impressed he didn't ask why I had mini chandeliers hanging from my ears. HA! (Oh and incase y'all are wondering, no me and this boy are not dating! #ForeverSingle)

Prints on Prints on Prints.

The intention of this outfit was to have this adorable Lilly clutch be the center of attention, with this ultra fantastic link necklace that was borrowed from my mom! Shocking I know, but if y'all don't know my mother has exceptional style. Where do you think I got it from?!

This was shot the last time I was home for the July 4th weekend by one of my best gals Cort. We decided to grab a peach sangria (our fav!!) and do what we do best....shop. A little backstory, Cort and I met at J. Crew so obviously we bonded over our love of clothes and shopping. Drink in hand, we wandered into Anthro, where they were having a sale, so naturally we decided to take advantage.

The second I put this turban on, and took 15 minutes to get it perfect, which of course means intentionally messy and thrown together, I decided it had to be mine!

Rather than lose the clutch, I decided the more patterns the merrier. When I asked Cort if it was too much she said, well it is for me but isn't that kind of what you do? HA! Lesson learned. When in doubt pile on the patterns, giant necklace and round it out with a neon lip.

Too Bright To Function.

J. Crew Sweater // J. Crew Skirt // Zara Leopard Heels // Kendra Scott Harlow Necklace (borrowed from my gal Corbin) // Rebecca Minkoff Leopard Bag (similar) // David Yurman Ring // Kendra Scott Ring

There are certain circumstances where piling on a little too much leopard, a giant bauble and neon on neon are totally okay. For some, it might be a function at night where you would need to be seen by any person within a five mile radius, but for me every single day calls for this look.

I made this outfit up in my head, without actually trying it on before getting ready for this shoot. When I threw it on, borrowed this fantastic bauble from my roomie at #SBScon, and thought....why have I not worn this before?

I'm in MAJ love with it. And these kicks, y'all, I got them at Zara during a sale for under $30!

We are getting crazy close to the giant blog changes ladies and gents! I am so very excited for y'all to see what we (and by we I mean the most amazing friend that has been given to me by my new job) have been working tirelessly on!

Let's Flamingle.

DressUp Floral Romper // Forever 21 Wedges // Rebecca Minkoff PolkaDot Bag // Sunnies //

Excuse the random mess y'all. This side of the airstream was not loaded up
with TONS of people, flamingos, and baubles.

There are certain times in life where you fall head over heels in love. Now while I have not had this feeling about my prince charming yet, definitely thought it happened with a couple who turned out to be frogs though, I have swooned over many an article of clothing. It sounds materialistic maybe, but  sometimes I just can't deny a good print, great fabric or interesting shape.

This romper is absolutely no exception! When I met the ladies from DressUp Boutique a couple weeks ago at #SBScon, I was reminded how much I love the brand! When I was searching through their new arrivals shortly after, I about died over the print of this little number. And when I found out it was a romper, it had to be mine. Y'all know I love a good onesie.

A Matching Set.

J. Crew Printed Top // J. Crew Printed Shorts // Forever 21 Wedges // Sunnies // Rebecca Minkoff Bag // Stud Bracelets (c/o Moon and Lola) // Loren Hope Bracelet (borrowed from Laura)

I know y'all are probably sick of me going on and on about the third annual Southern Blog Society's Conference a couple weekends ago in Charleston, but this is the last look from that fabulously festive weekend with my blogger bestie/roomies/photogs Laura & Corbin

I thought this little two piece matching number was perfect for the all day conference and meet the brands day. It screams fun and sassy, especially after having a crazy fun-filled Friday. I do wish I would have brought my Regent Blazer, since it was downright freezing in the building in the morning. Luckily, walking around to all the brands and getting weighed down with all kinds of fabulous goodies, warmed me up really quick!

Obviously my bag had to make its appearance, y'all know I love a good print mix.

Side note, there are some MAJOR BIG THINGS happening in the very near future on the blog. Just hang on tight and promise to stay loyal as I make some definite changes to the blog as we know it. I could not be more excited for the facelift.

#MLxxBB Launch Party

DressUp Floral Romper // Nars Lipstick // Moon and Lola Pillows (Like A Boss, I'm So Fancy, #Flawless)

In case y'all missed it, I moved to Atlanta less than three months ago. With dreams of having my first big girl job being a dream, getting out of my comfort zone and growing my blog in a city where there are so many more opportunities than my little seaside town could ever imagine, I decided to take the leap.

Last Thursday I had a pinch myself moment when I realized everything I wanted was in the process of happening. I have my own apartment (working on a home series, don't worry!), I love my job and the people I work with, and last week I attended a fabulous launch party for two of my favorite brands. As I sipped out of my flamingo float marg and stacked the bangles sky high, I realized I could do this blogging thing. I could network, make lasting impressions on people and have a good time.

Not to mention I met my idol, no exaggeration, Courtney Kerr. I literally DIED when I found out she was going to be there, and completely fangirled. Not to her face of course, I was totes calm. We chatted about her fabulous cape, which is about to become a staple in my wardrobe, like we were longtime girlfriends.

CK's ASOS Cape (I DIED when I saw it, it's beyond fab IRL y'all)

I was SO excited when this romper from Dress Up showed up at my doorstep the morning of this event. It was perfect for the crazy hot temps. Full outfit deets to come later this week.

If I don't say this enough, I love each and every one of y'all for reading along to my rambling thoughts and baring with me through the ups and downs to try and make this blog something! I am beyond excited for what is to come... there are HUGE things coming!
